What changed
History
- 0.3.0
- NewYou can now play on your own. Pick Play the computer and choose a level from 1 to 6; 1 is the weakest.
- NewAgainst the computer you can take back moves, and a refresh picks the game up where you left it.
- NewTwo players can now share one phone or tablet: open Two players and take turns on the same board.
- NewFinished games against the computer or on one device now have a Review button. It marks inaccuracies, mistakes and blunders and shows a better move on the board.
- NewA Hint button while you play the computer or a friend on one device: the first press shows which piece to move, the second shows where.
- NewNew: 3-minute puzzles. Solve as many as you can before time runs out; they get harder as you go, and three wrong moves ends the run.
- NewYour record against each computer level is shown after every game. Beat a level and the next one is one tap away.
- NewGames with a friend can be reviewed too, once they are over. The button does not appear during a game.
- NewNew: an analysis board. Move either side, branch off from any move, paste a PGN or FEN, and see the evaluation and best move for each position.
- NewFinished games now stay in My games — the last 30, in this browser. Open any of them in the analysis board.
- NewNew: Learn. Thirteen short lessons where you make the moves — how each piece moves, capturing, check and checkmate, castling, en passant, promotion and stalemate.
- NewNew: Train. Practise basic mates and endgames against the computer — king and queen, king and rook, two rooks, king and pawn, and the Lucena position — within a move limit.
- ChangedThe menu is now Computer · Two players · Puzzles · Learn · Train. The rules and guides live under Learn.
- 0.2.3

- ChangedThe shared link always asks the puzzle, never announces that you solved it — the person opening it has not.
- 0.2.2
- NewThe daily puzzle now carries its date in the address, so a link you share opens the same puzzle even tomorrow.

- NewTurn on “Go to the next puzzle when solved” and the next one opens as soon as you finish.
- ChangedOn phones the puzzle board sits higher, and whose turn it is shows with a king and larger text.
- ChangedMove sounds are now twice as loud.
- FixedOn wide screens the Hint, Show answer and Next puzzle buttons were squashed flat. They are full height again.
